Serbaglaze
Product Description
This is a solvent based, clear, moisture triggered aliphatic polyurethane. Formulated to give outstanding UV Stability and adhesion. Long term protection for overcoating glass or plastic roof lights, providing a tough transparent membrane which imparts shatter resistance to glass and renews old or oxidized plastics.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, sound and free from all surface contamination. Remove oil or grease using Thinner No 1 or Serba clean or a strong solution of detergent followed by washing with clean water. Fungal mould or lichen must be removed, addition protection against fungal spores can be achieved by applying Serba Fungal Wash. Where treatment includes glazing bars or window frames, ensure that they are clean, dry and free from loose debris, surface contamination or poorly adhered paint.
Priming
Most substrates do not require priming, pull off adhesion tests should be carried out prior to application of coating, this ensures adequate adhesion is achieved. Serba P U Primer is suitable for most substrates. For unusual, difficult substrates contact the technical department for advice on alternative primers.
Application
Can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray. If application is by airless spray, the coating must be de-aerated using a spiked roller. Apply at a maximum of 0.5ltrs per sq. mtr. per coat. Brush application is best achieved in two coats applied in different directions. Use a soft nylon or bristle brush. Roller application is again best in two coats. Use a medium pile sheepskin roller.
