Wall Coating System
Application Guide
Application of Wall Coating System
- Clean down wall surfaces using a power washer if possible to remove all dirt / loose old surface coatings etc.
- Remove and renew all loose rendering and allow a few days to cure.
- Rake out old surface cracks and repoint using a flexible exterior filler.
- Apply one coat of Serbacryl Base Coat using a fine textured roller at a rate of 2m² per litre.
- Apply one coat of Serbacryl Top Coat using a fine textured roller at a rate of 3 to 4m² per litre.
Notes on Technique
- Priming is only necessary if the exiting surface coatings are chalking badly or if coating onto a porous surface.
- Coating over large cracks that my be liable to excessive movement may require additional support by inlaying a fine mesh into the Base coat.
- The finish on the Serbacryl coating system can vary upon what type of tools have been used in the application. Using a fine textured roller as described above will achieve a pleasing dimpled finish.
Serbacryl Wall Coating System, unlike standard exterior wall paints is an elastomeric, waterproof membrane that will have an expected working life of at least 15 years before a further maintenance coat if required.
