Product Description
A water based elastomeric acrylic roof coating, specifically formulated for easy application. Excellent sag resistance and quick drying. This product is intended for long term protection, decorative and waterproof coating for sloped roofs, especially big six asbestos sheets, plastisol coated steel, slate and roofing tiles.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, sound and free from all surface contamination and frost. Repairs to cracks, holes etc. must be carried out prior to coating. Cracks can be reinforced by inlaying Serba Fleximesh into the coating. Fungal mould or lichen must be removed, additional protection against fungal spores can be achieved by applying Serba Fungl Wash.
Priming
Most substrates do not require priming, pull off adhesion tests should be carried out prior to application of coating, this ensures adequate adhesion is achieved. Serba SB Primer is suitable for most porous substrates. Serba Primer No 3 must be used when treating plastisol cladding. For unusual, difficult substrates contact the technical department for advice on alternative primers.
Application
Can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray. If application is by airless spray, the coating must be applied in one coat @ l litre pr m². Brush or roller application must be carried out in two coats, the first must be dry prior to applying the second coat. Apply at a rate of ½ litre per coat. Brush application is best achieved in two coats applied in different directions. Use a soft nylon or bristle brush. Roller application is again best in two coats. Use a medium pile sheepskin roller.
