Epoxy Screed - Heavy Duty Grade

Product Description

A heavy duty three part resin formulated to provide a topping screed for roofs. The non-porous, non-slip finish is an ideal surface for areas where a high level of protection is required. The rapid strength development enables overcoating within 24-48 hours.

Intended Uses

As with all topping screeds, applied at depths less than 20mm, the general profile or contour of the roof being treated will be followed. The screed allows alterations to 'falls' or 'high spots'. Raising levels the substrate to provide 'falls' should be done using Serba Epoxy Mortar.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination - grease, oil dirt etc. Remove all loose material and sweep clean. Heavily contaminated areas should be chemically cleaned or power washed to physically remove unsound or badly impregnated sustrate back to a clean base.

Priming

All prepared areas of the substrate must be thoroughly sealed with Serba Tack Primer. On extremely rough or porous surfaces, sealing should be done and allowed to cure overnight prior to the application of the epoxy screed.

Hand Mixing

In a suitable container (plastic), pour in the contents of Pack A (Resin) and Pack B (hardener) and stir well. Slowly pour in the contents of Pack C (Filler) and stir continuously until the entire pack has been added. Stir well until the mix in uniform in colour.

Machine Mixing

Using a Cretangle Mixer or a Metal mixer or similar. Empty the contents of Pack A (resin) into container. Add the contents of Pack B (Hardener) and stir well. When fully mixed, pour into the pan, start the mixer and continue to mix in Pack C (Filler) until the mix is uniform in colour, mix for approx 3 minutes.

Application

Apply the mixed material within minutes of mixing, although the fully mixed material remains useable after 30 minutes @ room temperature. Only apply the material to a well sealed or tacky base. Application is carried out using a trowel.
