Composition/Information on Ingredients
Hazardous Contents:
| Ingredient Name | Weight % | R Phrases | |
| Polymers, resins and other additives | 40 | ||
| Toluene | 60 | 108-88-3 | F,Xn |
Hazards Identification
Highly Flammable (R11). Harmful by inhalation (R20).
First Aid Measures
General
In all cases of doubt or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation
Remove patient to fresh air. Keep warm and at rest. Seek medical advice.
Ingestion
Do not induce vomiting because of risk of aspiration into the lungs. If aspiration is suspected obtain immediate medical attention.
Skin
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Do not use solvents to clean skin. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Eyes
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice (S26).
Fire Fighting Measures
Vapours are heavier than air and may travel considerable distances to a source of ignition and flashback. May form explosive vapour / air mixtures. In case of fire, use foam, carbon dioxide or dry agent - never use water (S43). In case of fire, do not breathe fumes.
Accidental Release Measures
Shut off all ignition sources. Ventilate area. Absorb spillage in suitable inert material. Sweep or shovel up spillage and remove to a safe place. Use non-sparking hand tools. Wear protective clothing as per section 8.
Handling and Storage
Handling
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation when spraying to maintain atmospheric levels in accordance with exposure limits.
Storage
Keep containers tightly closed and dry in a well ventilated area away from heat and direct sunlight. Store in accordance with current regulations for the storage of flammable materials. Store between 5 and 25°C
Exposure Controls and Personal Protection
Engineering Measures
Positive exhaust ventilation (flameproof if necessary) or natural ventilation that maintains atmospheric level in accordance with exposure limits.
Personal Protective Equipment
| Respiratory | In the absence of exhaust or natural ventilation that maintains atmospheric concentration in accordance with the exposure limits, self contained airline breathing apparatus should be worn. |
| Skin | Chemical proof suit and footwear should be worn. |
| Eyes | Goggles should be worn. |
| Hand | Chemical resistant rubber gloves - change frequently as required. |

Stability and Reactivity
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.
Conditions to Avoid
Contamination with water. Excessive build up of vapour.
Materials to avoid
Acids, amines, waters, alcohols, oxidising agents, heavy metals.
Hazardous Decomposition Products
Toxic fumes including hydrogen cyanide and carbon monoxide may be generated.
Hazardous Polymerization
May occur if held at temperatures in excess of 80°C or in contact with amines, water, alcohols, acids or heavy metals.
Toxilogical Information
Skin
Repeated skin contact will cause defatting, leading to irritation and possibly dermatitis.
Eyes
Severe eye irritant.
Respiratory
High concentrations can cause headaches, vomiting and narcotic effects. Respiratory sensitisation may occur as a result of long term exposure to isocyanate vapours or short term exposure to excessive vapour concentrations.
Ingestion
May result in nausea, dizziness, irritation of the gut.
Ecological Information
Ecotoxicity
Some components are expected to exhibit high mobility in soil and could leach to ground water.
Bioaccumulative Potential
If remaining near to the surface of soil, some components will evaporate slowly and may photo-oxidise and gradually degrade. Degradation in the soil will occur over an extended period of time.
Appraisal
All necessary precautions should be taken to prevent entry of the components into the soil, water or atmosphere.
Disposal Considerations
Dangers
Drum pressurisation can occur as a result of reaction with water or atmospheric moisture or if heated. Toxic fumes or vapours may be generated on incineration.
Disposal of substance/preparation
Small quantities of isocyanate may be decontaminated using an approved technique.
Disposal of Packaging
Drums may be decontaminated by an approved procedure.
