Polyfloor
Polyurethane Floor Coating
General
Polyfloor gives excellent protection and performance on a whole range of floor surfaces. Based on a high strength polyurethane formula, Polyfloor provides a hard tough, yet flexible wearing surface which is resistant to common chemicals and oils. It paints on easily and quickly transforms drab working areas. Polyfloor prevents the problems of dusting drying quickly to provide a smooth, hygienic finish which is easy to keep clean. Polyfloor is easily applied by unskilled operatives over a week end period allowing access on the Monday morning.
Areas of Use
Polyfloor is a general purpose floorpaint and can be used in factories, garages. Workshops, warehouses, canteens, schools and many other medium wear areas inside and out. Polyfloor is quick drying and can be used on floors where minimum shut down time is available.
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be painted must be thoroughly prepared to achieve the best performance:
New Concrete should be swept to remove dust and checked to ensure that any laitance is removed. i.e. loose powdery cement 'fats'. If unsure, use our Concrete Cleaner to etch surface. Make sure the surface is dry and clean. Always check 'power floated' floors for adhesion before application.
Old Painted Concrete should be degreased and cleaned back to a hard edge removing all old flaking paint. A patch test is recommended to check compatibility and adhesion. Make sure surfaces are dry and clean then patch prime before painting.
Existing Concrete should be brushed thoroughly to remove dust and dirt. Degrease using our Concrete Cleaner and wait until the floor is completely dry before painting. Always check the quality of the concrete surface. Weak, low strength, very dusty surfaces will continue to break up, even after painting. Re-screeding may be necessary.
Other Surfaces can be protected with Polyfloor. These are wood, metal and composite substrates. Make sure they are sound, clean and de-greased. Metal flooring should always be primed.
Application
Always prime porous surfaces using Polyfloor diluted with No. 1 Thinners. Bare metal floors should be primed using Polybond Glopane Zinc Rich Primer before overcoating. Two full bodied coats of Polyfloor are recommended to achieve the best overall performance. Stir the paint thoroughly before use and apply by brush, broom, roller or spray. Equipment can be cleaned after use with Polybond Thinners. A non slip finish can be produced by using a non-slip aggregate available from ourselves.
