Hi-Grip
General
Hi-Grip is primarily used for Pool Surrounds, Copings, Patios, Steps, Balconies, Smooth Tiled Areas, Ramps, Changing Rooms etc.
Hi-Grip is an entirely new coating designed primarily to provide a secure, slip resistant surface to the areas around swimming pools and similar partially wet environments. The coating is almost colourless and contains a special filler which provides the grip. Hi-Grip is comfortable to walk on in bare feet. Hi-Grip covers approximately 25 square metres per 5 litre pack and dries quickly in a few hours.
Hi-Grip does not unduly alter the general appearance and colour of the surface to which it is applied. Confirmation of final appearance should be made by brushing out a small test patch if required.
Hi-Grip can be applied to - Concrete, Stone, Tiles, Terrazzo, Marble, Plywood and all types of paving and composite surfaces for pedestrian use.
Hi-Grip is not suitable for underwater use or on permanently wet areas. Neither is it suitable in areas where there is regular vehicular traffic. Refer to our technical department for alternative systems.
Application
Hi-Grip is easy to use and is normally applied in a one or two coat system as required. Ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry, grease free, and that all traces of algae, moss etc are removed. We recommend using Polybond Concrete Cleaner to product the best surface. Ensure that there is no rain forecast for at least 12 hours.
Stir Hi-Grip before use. Ensure the material is well mixed before application and apply a thin coat evenly onto the surface using a brush, roller or soft broom. Do not allow the coat to 'puddle', as thick coatings will lose their transparency. Allow to dry for a minimum of 4 hours, longer in cooler weather. Overnight drying is recommended. A second coat may be applied at this stage if required.
Wash all equipment in clean water immediately after use.
Allow Hi-Grip to dry for at least 24 hours from application before re-commissioning the area.
Note - During the first week or so of its life a few of the grit particles may work free. These should be swept up and removed.
Spraying
Hi-Grip can be sprayed by conventional or airless systems using a gun designed for textured coatings. Please contact our technical department for more details.
