Heavy Duty Floor and Masonry Paint

General

HD Acrylic is used for Protecting and Decorating Walls, Floors, Paths and Driveways in Domestic and Industrial Environments. HD Acrylic is a new, smooth, tough, quick dry coating which is versatile enough for multi use on a whole range of surfaces. It is resistant to the weather and outperforms conventional smooth masonry coatings. It also provides an excellent finish for concrete floors in domestic and light industrial areas, tennis courts, paths, car parks etc. Water based HD Acrylic dries quickly to a silk sheen finish producing a surface which is hygienic and easily kept clean. The product is water based and therefore safe and convenient to use with little or no smell.

Use as a Masonry Coating

For external use as a wall paint on houses, factories, shops etc.

HD Acrylic can be used to protect a wide range of building surfaces including brick, masonry, stucco, render, plaster and fibre board etc. HD Acrylic can be painted over most existing masonry paints and emulsions. It can also be applied as an obliteration coat on glass. HD Acrylic must be applied to surfaces that are dry, clean, sound and free from any oil or grease. Unsound previous coatings or loose material should be removed before application and all bare areas patch primed. Existing mould growth can rapidly be eliminated by using Polybond Fungicidal Wash. HD Acrylic can then be directly applied to the surface.
The product is supplied ready for use by brush or roller. On some previously painted surfaces a one coat application is all that is required. On surfaces of average porosity however, two coats will be overcoated after 4 to 6 hours depending on weather conditions. Wash hands and equipment out in water immediately after use.

Use as a Floor and Drive Paint

Ideal for warehouses, Factory Units, Sports Halls, Shops, Conservatories, Car Parks, Driveways, Tennis Courts etc.

HD Acrylic will provide a durable, decorative, waterproof coating to concrete, composition, tarmac and asphalt. It dries quickly to provide a hard wearing surface preventing the problems of staining, dusting and discoloration particularly on tarmac drives etc. being water based the paint has little or no odour, is non-hazardous and convenient to use indoors without interrupting work routines. The paint can be applied directly on to oil free solvent sensitive surfaces.
HD Acrylic will tolerate accidental spillage of common chemicals, water oil and food stuffs but will not resist solvents or regular liquid immersion.
HD Acrylic Clear is water white when dry and therefore can be used on all types of building surfaces as a sealer / varnish without undue discoloration to form a tough, durable, clear finish.

Application

The paint should be applied to sound, clean surfaces in a good state of repair. Make sure when applying to asphalt or tarmac that the surface is well weathered, i.e. At least 12 months old. The coating will tolerate dampness in the floor at the time of application. All existing paintwork should be checked and if necessary, scraped back to a firm edge. All holes, cracks etc should be made good before painting.
The normal application is 2 coats applied by brush, broom or roller. The first coat should be allowed to dry prior to applying the final coat. If a superior protective surface is required then Acrylic Clear can be applied as a final glaze coat. Allow at least 6 hours between coats. Always apply the paint under good drying conditions and care should be taken to ensure no water spills onto the coating for at leas 24 hours. Always check the weather before applying outside on drives, paths and tennis courts etc. If rain is expected within 24 hours, do not commence work.

Properties

Pack Size	2.5 litre, 5 litre and 25 litre drums
Colours	White, Black, Tile Red, Dark Green, Grey, Sandstone, Magnolia and Cream. Also a Clear Sealer.
Coverage	9m² per litre, less on porous substrates.
Touch Dry	1 hour at 20°C and 65% RH
Hard Dry	Overnight
Re-Coat	Minimum 4 hours on walls and 6 hours on floors, longer in cooler, humid conditions.
Thinning	Use Clean Water.
Storage Life	At least 18 months. Protect from frost.

Health and Safety

HD Acrylic does not create a health hazard under normal conditions or use. It is non-flammable and almost odourless, requiring no special precautions in use.
