Episol
'Solvent Free' Epoxy Floor Coating
General
Episol is a two-part, solvent free epoxy coating specially formulated for use on all types of floors where a high level of protection is required against physical wear, spillage and soiling. It provides a high build, glossy coating which is non-tainting during application. Once cured, the Episol film is inert and will withstand heavy traffic. It is easily cleaned and the shine can be maintained by regular polishing.
For use in:
Preparation
All surfaces to be treated must be dry and free from oil, dust and loose materials. Any holes or cracks should be made good. Damp concrete should be primed with Q19 Clear. Episol can be coated directly onto a dense polymer concrete surface but more porous surfaces should be primed with Polybond 'E' primer or Q19 Clear. Rough surfaces will need two coats of Episol.
Mixing
Stir the larger base component until smooth, then add the contents of the smaller hardener pot. Continue mixing for two minutes before transferring the entire mix to a paint kettle or other container and re-mixing yet again. Note that inadequate mixing leads to soft, uncured patches on the floor. A mechanical or electric drill mixer is highly recommended for this job.
Application
Episol may be applied by brush or short-pile roller. The best method is to pour the mixed Episol across the floor in a ribbon then spread it out to the desired thickness using a squeegee, finally laying off to finish with a roller. Apply at 300 microns per coat.

Health and Safety
Episol should not come into regular contact with the skin - some people are sensitive to epoxy resin compositions. Wear gloves and goggles and use a good quality barrier cream. If contact with skin occurs, remove the Episol as soon as possible with a Kerocleanse or Rozaklens skin cleansing cream followed by washing with soap and water. Do not use solvents for skin cleansing. Eye contamination should be washed with copious amounts of clean water and medical attention sought. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - Do not induce vomiting. Ensure good ventilation during application.
