Tennis Court Paints

Product Function

Paint to be used on tennis courts has several requirements. It should be easy to apply, provide a tough finish which is abrasion and weather resistant, non-slip, durable and favourable for play. In addition, the surface must be economical. These requirements are met by the range of Tennis Court Paints that are available from Acron.

Acron Tennis Acrylic (ATA)

Water based and designed for application to asphalt and tarmac. Quick dry to a low-slip semi matt finish. It can be applied by all conventional methods (brush, roller or spray). One or two coats may be required depending upon surface to be coated. It is easy to recoat worn patches as and when necessary. Tennis Acrylic is also used in conjunction with Acron Tennis Synthetic Rubber, where it forms the sealing coat on asphalt. Acron Tennis Acrylic is supplied in 5 litre packs and is available in red or green.

Tennis Synthetic Rubber (ATSR)

This product is spirit based and designed for all surfaces but especially concrete. It dries very quickly and contains a fine grit to provide a high grip and high bounce surface. The manufacturer recommends that this product is applied by brush or roller. Usually one coat will be adequate - this will depend upon the condition of the surface being coated. If the surface is asphalt, Acron Tennis Acrylic should be applied as a sealer prior to one coat of Acron Tennis Synthetic Rubber. ATSR will last longer than ATA. Acron Tennis Synthetic Rubber is supplied in a 5 litre pack and is available in red or green.

Floorguard Tennis

This product is a water based epoxy resin. It is exceptionally tough and abrasion resistant. It will cure to touch dry overnight and achieve full cure within a few days. The manufacturer recommends application by roller or brush in temps above 8°C. Floorguard Tennis contains a medium grit to provide maximum grip for players. On a sound surface, one coat should last for several years. Floorguard Tennis is supplied in a 2.5 litre pack and is available in red or green.

Line paints

This range is spirit based and may be applied to any of the paints noted above. Line Paints are supplied in 1, 2.5 & 5 litre packs and are available in yellow or white. One coat should be sufficient with a possible second coat to serving and receiving areas.

Note

Tarmac or asphalt should not be painted during the first six months from the time it is laid. Thus allowing time for the volatile components in the tar/asphalt to dry out. In addition, these surfaces should be coated with a water based paint to provide a good seal before solvent based paints are applied. This prevents tar stain bleeding though.
