Product Function

QAD Enamel is a high quality 1 hour alkyd synthetic enamel. Coatings offer fast surface drying even in thick films, minimum yellowing and outstanding film hardness and toughness. QAD Enamel can be used for heavy duty vehicle finishing as well as for vehicle repair work. Due to its good resistance to oils, fats and cutting oils etc., QAD Enamel is an ideal choice for machinery enamel. It is flexible and gives good performance over both interior and exterior wood and metal surfaces. Excellent results are achieved when applied to MDF. QAD Enamel can be applied direct on to unprimed surfaces in a single or two coat application.

Surface Preparation and Application

Surfaces must be thoroughly clean, dry, free from millscale, rust, oil, grease or other contaminants, use degreasing thinners. Can be brushed, rollered or hot sprayed without the addition of thinners. For conventional air assisted spray, use 10 to 15% Universal Thinners.

Priming

If priming is required :

Mild Steel: Zinc Phosphate Primer
Aluminum: Two Pack Etch Primer
Stainless Steel and Zintec: Single Pack Etch Primer

Properties

Packaging	2.5, 5 and 25 litres.
Storage	Stable in original containers.
Coverage	Brush: 7 to 8m² per litre. Spray: 8 to 9m² per litre.
Flash Point	May occur between 30 to 32°C.
Drying Times	Surface Touch Dry : 30 minutes Hard Dry : Overnight
Colour Range	All colours available to BS4800 or RAL rangess. A colour matching service may be available for some orders.
Viscosity as supplied	Approx 3.0 poise ICI Cone and Plate Viscometer at 25°C.
Solids	55% approx.
Overcoating	Two coats wet on wet are possible. Alternatively, leave overnight.
