Mordant 'T' Wash

Product Function
Mordant 'T' Wash is manufactured to a formulation developed by the British Rail Board and is designed for use as an etching solution for galvanized steel / zintec. Mordant 'T' Wash can be overcoated with most topcoat systems.

Preparation

Heavy surface oxidization can be removed by scrubbing with water. Oil and grease should be removed with degreasing thinners. Highly polished galvanized (as in hot dipped galvanized) should be lightly abraded.

Application

Apply by brush, roller or spray to give an even film. Allow to dry before overcoating with appropriate primers and topcoats.

Shelf LifeUp to 12 months in original sealed containers.
StorageRecommended storage is in a cool dry place with temperatures between 10-15°C and in accordance with the Highly Flammable Liquids and Liquified Petroleum Gasses Regulations 1972.
ViscosityApprox 12 to 14 secs. B.4. Ford Cup @ 20°C.
Drying TimesTurns Grey/black after approx 10 minutes. Allow to surface dry.
Coverage20m² per litre approx.
Thinners/ CleanersUse water for cleaning equipment.
