Marine Varnish

General

The wooden areas of your boat require protection from the elements. Acron Marine Varnish will provide protection whilst enhancing the natural beauty of wood (where it is of good quality).

Substrate Construction and Flexibility

In general, Acron single and two pack polyvarnish should only be used on substrates which demonstrate minimal movement. Wooden hulls in particular require greater flexibility, Acron Classic Number 1 Varnish would be suggested here.

Existing Coating

Single and two pack polyvarnish may be overcoated with any of the Acron Marine Varnish range. However, Classic Number 1 and satin varnishes cannot be overcoated with single or two pack polyvarnish.

Classic No.1

A standard single pack alkyd based varnish. The product will provide a tough, full gloss finish with flexibility to allow for movement of the timber

Satin Varnish

A quick drying varnish - the satin finish renders it ideal for interior trims. Urethane alkyd based.

Single Pack Varnish

With a high gloss finish, the durability of a two pack but the ease of application of a standard varnish.

Two Pack Polyvarnish

A two part polyurethane varnish providing a high gloss finish. This product is noted for its hardwearing properties and can be used on rigid surfaces where a hardwearing surface is required. When thinned, it has notable penetrating properties useful for varnishing oily woods such as teak.

Woodseal

Although Woodseal is not a varnish, it is an excellent start to a new varnish system It has rot inhibitive properties for use above and below the water line.
