AP1 Red Oxide Primer

Product Function

An alkyd resin based air dry primer. The product adheres well and provides protection to correctly prepared steel surfaces (before over-coating takes place). AP1 RED OXIDE is suitable for application by spray, brush or roller (depending upon area size). This is a hard wearing primer which is economical, as the paint is still useable once the pot has been opened.

Surface Preparation and Application

Surfaces to be coated must be dry and clean ensuring that no grease remains. Degreasing may be carried out using Universal Thinners; maximum efficiency will be achieved using vapour degreasing. The product can be applied using conventional or airless spray equipment and can be adjusted for use with electrostatic spray equipment. Conventional spraying requires the paint to be thinned to a viscosity of 20 to 50 seconds at ambient temperature, or approximately 10% by volume.
