Acrylic Enamel

Product Function

Acylic Enamel is a tough and durable fleet enamel for commercial vehicles and high quality industrial finishing of all types. It combines a long wet edge time with quick through drying allowing the largest of vehicles to be sprayed without dusty overspray problems, whilst at the same time, yielding rapid taping and processing times for realistic second colour and sign writing applications.
Acrylic Enamel is based on a unique specially formulated blend of polyurethane and chain stopped alkyd resins - leading to excellent gloss retention, abrasion resistance, adhesion, toughness, durability and chemical resistance.
A particular feature of Acrylic Enamel is its good resistance to "yellowing" in white and pastel shades combined with excellent light fastness and hiding power making it very economical in general usage.
This product finds its uses in the decorative field including interior and exterior wood finishing and also in other applications where its great abrasion resistance, toughness and gloss retention making it a popular choice for heavy duty flooring applications.

Priming

Application

Acrylic Enamel can be applied by spray, brush or roller. Conventional spray is best at approximately 35 to 50 seconds B4 Ford Cup at 20°C which is achieved by the additions of 10% Speed Thinners by volume.

Hot Spraying

This is best carried out between 50 to 60°C - Thinner is not normally required, up to 10% of Speed Thinners may be used in hot weather.

Brushing

Acrylic Enamel gives excellent brushability due to its long wet edge. Acron retarded coach enamel thinners can be used to increase the wet edge over very large panel areas.

Roller

An application technique used mainly for flooring and walling application of this product. Normally add 10 to 20% of Speed Thinner to facilitate easier rollering and better even coverage.
