  3. Hazards Identification

    Highly flammable. Irritating to eyes. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

  4. First Aid Measures

    General Inhalation

    Keep affected person away from heat, sparks and flames.

    Inhalation

    Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. When breathing is difficult, properly trained personnel may assist by administering 100% oxygen. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Seek prompt medical attention.

    Ingestion

    Do not induce vomiting. Never make an unconscious person vomit or drink fluids. Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Rinse mouth thoroughly. Provide rest, warmth and fresh air. If breathing stops or shows signs of failing, apply artificial respiration. Seek medical attention immediately.

    Skin

    Remove affected person from source of contamination. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.

    Eyes

    Make sure to remove any contact lenses from eyes prior to rinsing. Continue for at least 20 minutes. Contact physician if irritation persists. Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.

  5. Fire Fighting Measures

    Extinguishing Media

    Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry Chemicals, sand dolomite etc.

    Special Fire Fighting Procedures

    Containers close to fire should be removed or cooled with water. Use water to keep fire exposed containers cool and disperse vapours.

  6. Accidental Release Measures

    Spill Cleanup Methods

    Clean up personnel should use respiratory and / or liquid contact protection. Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Run off or release to sewer, waterway or ground is forbidden. Collect with absorbent, non-combustible material into suitable containers. If it has entered drains, inform authorities.

    Personal Precautions During Spill

    Wear suitable protective clothing. Ensure good ventilation.

    Usage Precautions

    Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Provide good ventilation. Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Use approved respirator if air contamination is above accepted level. Do not reuse empty containers without commercial cleaning or reconditioning.

    Storage Precautions

    Flammable / Combustible – keep away from oxidizers, heat and flames. May attach some plastics, rubber and coatings. Keep in cool, dry ventilated storage and closed containers.
