Highly flammable. Irritating to eyes. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
First Aid Measures
General Inhalation
Keep affected person away from heat, sparks and flames.
Inhalation
Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. When breathing is difficult, properly trained personnel may assist by administering 100% oxygen. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Seek prompt medical attention.
Ingestion
Do not induce vomiting. Never make an unconscious person vomit or drink fluids. Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Rinse mouth thoroughly. Provide rest, warmth and fresh air. If breathing stops or shows signs of failing, apply artificial respiration. Seek medical attention immediately.
Skin
Remove affected person from source of contamination. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.
Eyes
Make sure to remove any contact lenses from eyes prior to rinsing. Continue for at least 20 minutes. Contact physician if irritation persists. Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.
Fire Fighting Measures
Extinguishing Media
Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry Chemicals, sand dolomite etc.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures
Containers close to fire should be removed or cooled with water. Use water to keep fire exposed containers cool and disperse vapours.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill Cleanup Methods
Clean up personnel should use respiratory and / or liquid contact protection. Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Run off or release to sewer, waterway or ground is forbidden. Collect with absorbent, non-combustible material into suitable containers. If it has entered drains, inform authorities.
Personal Precautions During Spill
Wear suitable protective clothing. Ensure good ventilation.
Handling and Storage
Usage Precautions
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Provide good ventilation. Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Use approved respirator if air contamination is above accepted level. Do not reuse empty containers without commercial cleaning or reconditioning.
Suitable coatings
Carbon / Stainless steel, polyethylene, polypropylene.
Storage Precautions
Flammable / Combustible – keep away from oxidizers, heat and flames. May attach some plastics, rubber and coatings. Keep in cool, dry ventilated storage and closed containers.
Storage Criteria
Flammable liquid storage.

Ventilation
Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. All handling to take place in well ventilated area.
Protective Gloves
Use protective gloves made of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
Eye Protection
Wear splash-proof eye goggles to prevent any possibility of eye contact.
Other Protection
Use engineering controls to reduce air contamination to permissible exposure level. Provide eyewash, quick drench. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact.
Hygienic Work Routines
